Integrated Automotive Customization

Gerardo Chaparro

My main goal was to bridge the gap between the custom automotive scene and factory comfort and style. The project revolved around staying loyal to 4 major characteristics while designing the custom replica center console enclosure: Vehicle sustianability, strict OEM design language, plug-and-play convenience, and modularity for easy upgrades. My creation consists of a 100% fiberglass enclosure that offers factory styling, integration to existing components, and most importantly houses up to one 10” subwoofer for a luxurious, yet powerful audio upgrade to a stock 2014-2018 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado.

Shown above is the custom acoustic center console to house one 10“ subwoofer with integrated styling, armrest, tray with plugs, and bolt-down locations.

The back to back comparison shows how similar they are in styling, but totally redefined in function.
